8.50 (very good) | Abound with bright colours, yet spine-chillingly horrific, yet emotionally provoking, with its main protagonist ever calm in the face of Death, this is an anime that raises the bar. While not completely flawless, it is honestly, and terrifyingly so extremely hard to forget.

Intriguing plotline and play of timeline. Keeps us on our toes, wondering how the events had played out to bring us the
characters and their circumstances as they are. Add the setting of America in the 1930s, alive with Jazz and Mafia alike
in the streets, conspiracy theories adrift; and you have quite a winner. Once again, Narita Ryohgo's cast of thousands are charming and varied - the seemingly wimpy, tearful Jacuzzi who will go to all extends for the people he cares about, with his strangely spontaneous bravery; the Immortal eternal child, Czelaw, ruthless in his will to live and continue; the silent, deadly Chane completely dedicated to her 'father'; the initially unassuming Claire Stanfield who goes on to play a huge part in the story of the Rail Tracer; the explosives-happy Nice; the three Gandor brothers, vastly different from each other but a team nonetheless; Eve, quietly bold and strong-spirited; and who can foget Miria and Isaac, one of the most fun and random duos you'll ever find. You might find similarities to Drrr's cast - yet these all have their own backstories and personalities, so much more individual. Watch! Once you get over the skipping timelines, and the vaguely heavy pilot, you'll fall in love. Next: Baccano! novels~

With each episode just over 1 minute, this anime is both snappy in dialogue and utterly random. The animation is of
top-class quality, with stunning 3D graphics depicting the futuristic empire of Merkur and its Robot Duchess Drossel Von
Flugel.
Every episode features a comical but fast-paced conversation between Drossel and her butler-like robot mentor, Gedachtnis. Drossel, robot though she may be, is quite the 'princess', with her high-and-mighty ways, her habit of posing dramatically, and her sporadic displays of carefree childishness. On the other hand, Gedachtnis is lovablely servile yet comically jaded towards some of his mistress' antics. Together, they make a strangely entertaining comedian duo. All through out their banter, there are dropped hints of Oh!Plot - dystopia and warring humankind closing in on the kingdom.. But enough of this Serious talk! Not like Drossel can be bothered, there are better things to do - Oh heck, MONKEY! :D Fireball also has a prequel, Fireball Charming. Warning - It's even more random, and Drossel's 'ojou-sama'ness is taken up a notch. Ah beauty.

8.00 (good) | The pace, humour and the medley of erm, interesting characters is what keeps Durarara! alive and kicking. Narita Ryohgo knows how to keep readers entertained indeed and very much in suspense. Got to love the interactions ( Bratty Masaomi/(happily) suffering Mikado/clueless Anri. Hyper Erika+Walker. The weirdness between Mikado and Izaya. Oh Shizuo/Izaya rage. wahaha) and how the nicest voice-acting actually belongs to the headless character lol. What is interesting that despite all the action and showdowns that have occurred so far, one gets the feeling that there is more to come and more to be revealed about the characters... Yeah, coincidences go a bit far even with all the mastermind-ing but still. There's got to be a valid explanation and it can't just be hitsuzen lol. Definitely a great drama to watch.

8.00 (good) | Yeah, yeah, shoujo with hot bishies and reverse harem, you think that I'm biased. But honestly? I initially dropped the Ouran manga because I thought that was all it had, with the humour a little messier than in the anime. Then I read a few dropped hints in crossover fic and the like and thought, "heck, this sounds like it'll get better." So I read on and on and I don't regret it one bit! The humour is tidied up (thank goodness) yet keeps its hilarious, exaggerated touch and the characters are developed such that while not exactly realistic, you can sympathise, empathise and realise that the 'richies having fun-fun-fun' is a sort of facade, a wild attempt for simple(?) happiness. Sure, it's extravagant. Sure, this is NOT quite possible. Sure, you get happy endings. But it's fun and there is depth, so why not? A not-so-guilty pleasure.

8.00 (good) | I feel like cutting points just 'cos Seishirou is such a pedo.. But that wouldn't be fair. After all, even with spoilers abound, the manga and its art and style could keep me reading and looking for the next scene and messed with my emotions plenty. Truly quite a powerful read, in the long run.

Some time in the future, humans left Earth to colonise another planet (which is a lot like Earth. Erm). This new Earth
is largely ruled over by the Christian Church, and in the midst of all this, there is Kieli. Kieli is absolutely
skeptical of the Church - she believes that "God got tired on the way to the new planet, so he never made it
here!". Her cynical view is supported by a few things. One: Apparently, in the early years of colonisation, there waged a huge war between the Church and its opposition. The Church did the unthinkable and built a force of biologically-enhanced soldiers who cleaved through the rebels' forces like a hot knife through butter - vicious, deadly and undying, self-healing. After the bloody war, the Church then annexes said soldiers and declares that they will hunt down every last one of them, enlisting their one weakness against them (of course >_>) - their literally stone hearts - the source of their healing powers and without, they are pretty much dead. Years and years later, even after a sort of civilisation has been established, the hunts go on and the Church military becomes a feared figure, striking down once-soldiers and rebels in the streets, in plain sight - Children are told that non-believers will be fetched by the Church military.
Two: Kieli can see spirits of the dead, even in church, during the holiest of masses. If there be a merciful God, then
why do these pained spirits still haunt the church? So she thinks. So, yeah, perhaps not the cup of tea for
Christians... BUT. | ||

Kodaka is a misunderstood high school kid, ostracized for his blonde hair and delinquent-like looks - when really,
he's just an innocent, mix-blooded boy. So innocently mixed up with the affairs of a certain notorious club; the
Neighbours Club. A club of misfits who just want to make friends, with the two hot-headed heroines, the evil and brash
Yozora and the perfect but haughty Sena at its head and forever making life both 'interesting' and hazardous
for the reluctant Kodaka. The scans on MT lie! This manga is so darn hilarious and cute~ If ecchi could always be this sweet and funny, I wouldn't mind tagging at all~ I love how the set up is simple, and the story seems simple. But the plotting and the way new characters are introduced are smooth and comes across as both instantly fun and actually leading to an important plot point. It doesn't start off with an insensible 'here's a derp newcomer! Now, ladies~ Fall for him and drop like flies wahahahaha" either. We can go from classic school club comedy to sadistic Yozara to ecchi to good ole' Shounen and back to comedy and, and - It's wonderful. Plus, character interactions are <3. Crazy Yozora and Sena rivalry, Yukimura's open secret, Kobato's childish playacting as a vampiress and adorable lil sister dependence on Big Brother Kodaka, Maria's ditz, Rika's confusing all-directions ideology - and with all that, Kodaka's one-liners and calm monologue delivered with just a little pinch of "I'm in the middle of deep shite - but I accept. I have to ;_;" Zen-ness. Oh Kodaka. I can't stop reading. Thank you CB.

It was shaky at first, and the deliberate stereotyping and 'TV-Trope'-ing is like woah overload, but now
I'm too busy stifling my laughter to care. :'D This is Entertainment, folks.
It's Kino no Tabi characters thrown into an alternative universe, conveniently converging at a high school, with
their personalities tweaked for er, viewing pleasure! Most of all, it's author-san Sigsawa breaking the 4th wall over and over again! Like, for serious, read it. /D Too bad we don't review light novels lol. Get a Penguindrum-style anime please, Gakuen Kino.
